Sara Mustonen 12. in Gent-Wevelgem!
After a strong 21. place from our Austrian talent Kathrin Schweinberger in Driedaagse Brugge – De Panne World Tour race – which brought important world ranking points for Health Mate Ladies Team – our Swedish topper finished Gent-Wevelgem in fantastic 12. position!
“Happy in one way, disappointed in another.” – told us Sara after Gent-Wevelgem. “I felt quite good during the race but I knew the hilly zone will be difficult. I stayed up in front to survive in the best position the Kemmelberg and other climbs. It was lucky with this kind of wind that day a big part of the peloton came back together, after the last time on the Kemmelberg. But then the sprint was really chaotic. I had to stop pedalling twice because it got a bit “tight” to avoid crashing. Despite being closed in for the final, 12th is not bad result, but I hope to show more in the next classics of Belgium. I love the races of Flanders. 🙂 “
“Sara proved again what a topper she is. We didn’t see the last and the best from her yet” – said Sport Director Patrick Van Gansen after a great day at Gent-Wevelgem.
The Swedish rider of Health Mate Ladies Team is currently preparing for Tour of Flanders. She is training this week in the home of Ronde van Vlaanderen, in Oudenaarde. Her love for these Belgian classics, ambitious and determined attitude, great experience is very motivating for our young talents and gives Health Mate Ladies Team potential for a World Tour podium this season!
